- 3 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2–3 tbsp water
- ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp butter or olive oil (optional)
- Optional: 1 tsp lemon juice
- Optional: 1 clove garlic, minced.
Instructions
- Wash and trim the ends of the green beans.
- Place them in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Add 2–3 tablespoons of water.
- Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe lid or plate.
- Microwave on high for 4–6 minutes, until tender-crisp.
- Carefully remove the bowl (steam will be hot).
- Drain excess water if needed.
- Add butter or olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional garlic or lemon juice.
- Toss well to coat evenly.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Cooking time may vary depending on microwave power.
- For crispier beans, reduce cooking time slightly.
- Add seasoning immediately after cooking for best flavor.
