Instructions

In a saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves completely to make simple syrup.

Let the syrup cool to room temperature.

In a pitcher, add fresh lemon juice and cooled syrup. Stir well.

Add sparkling water slowly to preserve the fizz.

Stir gently to combine.

Add ice cubes and garnish with lemon slices or mint.
