Scalloped potatoes:


This particular dish is a meal you can eat anytime and is easily made with more straightforward ingredients.

For this dish, you will need a few-cloves of garlic, chopped onions, cheese, parmesan cheese for serving, pepper, potatoes, salt, butter, thyme, all-purpose flour, and salt.

Method: First, we have to prepare the sauce. For this heat a pan and add butter. Once the butter melts, add onions and sauté it for 4 to 5 minutes till it becomes translucent over a medium to high heat. Then add finely chopped garlic and sauté for 1 to minutes. Add in the flour and combine evenly, and cook for a few minutes. Now, Gradually add the stock, and stir till everything is combined properly. Add pepper and teaspoon of thyme in the milk, and keep stirring until it’s perfectly mixed. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce starts to simmer around the edges of the pan and you will see that the sauce begins to thicken. Add salt and then turn off the heat and keep it aside.

Now on a baking tray apply little oil and then place the sliced potatoes evenly. Add the creamy sauce on top of the potatoes and spread it all over the potato slices, and then sprinkle with cheddar cheese and some Parmesan cheese. Repeat the process for the second time (same as mentioned above).
Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes or more until the potatoes are cooked.

Chicken Alfredo:


It’s everyone’s favorite, and it’s a meal in itself. Quick to make and requires only a few ingredients that are readily available in everybody’s kitchen. Children love it too, and you can make it as per their taste.

Ingredients you will require for the dish are olive oil, chicken breast, salt, pepper, milk, fettuccine, cream, cheese, parsley, garlic, and vegetable stock.

Method: Heat oil ( you can add butter if you want) in a large saucepan or a heavy bottom pan, and then over a medium to high blame, add chicken to the pan with salt and pepper as per taste. Cook the chicken till it has a golden color and cooked through from both the sides. This takes about 8 to 10 minutes. Let the cooked chicken rest for 10 to 13 minutes, and then slice it according to your preference.

Now, in another pan, add milk, vegetables stock, and chopped garlic and season it with salt and pepper and bring to a boil. One it’s boiled Add fettuccine while frequently stirring for about 2-3 minutes. Let the fettuccine cook till al dente. It will take more 10 minutes.


Now Stir in heavy cream to make it creamier. Add grated Parmesan and combine everything. Cook until sauce thickens. Remove the pan from the heat and add in sliced chicken. Sprinkle with parsley and serve hot.
